Reports in France suggest that Arsenal are in talks to sign PSG midfielder Christopher Nkunku on loan, with an option to buy the 21 year old at the end of the season.
That is according to L’Equippe who report that the player is already known to Arsenal manager Unai Emery when he was in charge at PSG last season, and who admires him for his versatility and ability to play on either wing as well as in the centre of midfield.
A French under-21 international of Congolese descent, Nkunku has made 65 senior appearances for PSG, scoring nine times.
The move for Nkunku comes after discussions about signing Denis Suarez from Barcelona appeared to founder, with Arsenal and the Catalan club unable to agree as to whether an option to buy should be included in any loan deal, as well as the valuation which should be placed the 24-year old midfielder.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
