Atletico de Madrid has sent Chelsea an improved offer in order to entice Chelsea to sell their prized, yet disgruntled striker Diego Costa, according to Marca.
The last offer hovered around £48.5 million up front with other performance add-ons and the new one is £57 million including the bonus payments.
The 28-year-old striker played with the ‘Colchoneros’ in between 2010 and 2014, with a loan spell with Rayo Vallecano in the 2011-12 season. He was, by all means, a hit, scoring 64 competitive goals with the Spanish side and becoming a huge piece in manager’s Diego Simeone scheme.
It is widely known that the Blues’ boss Antonio Conte does not want the striker in his team, as he famously told Costa via text message that he was free to look for another club in the summer. No move materialized and the Spain international reportedly looked for legal help to force his return to Madrid, but the deal didn’t go through before the deadline.
