Barcelona considering summer move for Luke Shaw

Following his latest bust-up with manager Jose Mourinho, Barcelona could be ready to offer Luke Shaw an unlikely escape route out of Old Trafford, according to The Daily Mirror.

Shaw was infamously criticised by his manager after being substituted at half-time against Brighton in the FA Cup, and with subsequent claims of bullying being leveled at Mourinho and appearing in the press, the relationship between Shaw and his Portuguese coach now seems to have broken down irrevocably.

Now Barcelona have emerged as surprise candidates to sign the England international, who feel that Shaw could be a good value addition to their squad. The Spanish club are in the market for a left-back with French international Lucas Digne potentially set to leave because of a lack of playing time.

Barcelona’s regular left-back is Jordi Alba, who still has two years left on his contract at the Nou Camp. Shaw would compete with Alba for the left-back berth should he move.
