Barcelona linked with move for Willian

Barcelona are ready to make another bid to sign Chelsea winger Willian in the January transfer window.

The Catalans made three offers for the Brazilian over the summer, including one that was as high as £55 million, but all were rejected by the Blues. However, according to The Daily Mirror, they are ready to try again, this time offering Chelsea Malcom as part of the deal.

Malcom, who is a compatriot of Willian, was signed in the summer from Bordeaux in a £36.5 million deal, having previously been linked with a move to Roma, as well as Premier League sides like Arsenal and Tottenham. One of the hottest prospects in Ligue 1 last season, he has endured a miserable start to his career at the Nou Camp, making only three appearances so far this season, two of which are from the bench.

Given the difference in valuations and relative form, Barcelona would need to offer a substantial cash sum to Chelsea plus Malcom if they are to finally get their man.
