Bayern eyeing another Premier League youngster

Not content with trying to capture Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea, Bayern Munich are eyeing another Premier League youngster in the form of Manchester City striker Rabbi Matondo.

Born in Liverpool to a Congolese father, Matondo moved to Wales as a boy, and began his youth career with Cardiff City before switching to the Etihad in 2016. Highly regarded by City because of his pace, the Welsh international is a player that Pep Guardiola is reluctant to let go, and has integrated him into first-team training sessions to entice him to stay at the club.

The issue though, as with Hudson-Odoi, and, before him, Jadon Sancho is playing time. Matondo has never played for City at senior level, and there is little prospect of him breaking through to the first team this season. By contrast, Bayern, who according to The Sun are ready to offer £10 million for Matondo who is out of contract next summer, are prepared to guarantee him regular first team football much faster.
