Brendan Rodgers set to be offered Leicester job

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is Leicester’s top target as they search for their fourth manager in two years.

Previous incumbent Claude Puel was sacked on Sunday, a day after his side were beaten 4 -1 by Crystal Palace in front of their home fans on Saturday evening, the first time they have lost four successive home games since 2000.

Now, according to The Sun, they want to offer the job to the 46-year old Northern Irishman, although they will need to wait until the summer if they want their man.

They must also be prepared to pay Celtic £6 million in compensation, representing the two years left on Rodger’s contract if he does decide to swap Parkhead for the King Power Stadium.

Following Puel’s departure, first-team coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sandler will be in charge of the side for Tuesday’s Premier League clash with Brighton, with Leicester considering following Manchester United’s example by appointing an interim coach until the end of the season.
