Celtic complete loan signing of PSG striker

Celtic have signed 18-year old PSG striker Timothy Weah on loan for the rest of the season.

The US international is the son of George Weah, three times African Player of the Year, and Ballon D’Or Winner, currently serving as President of Liberia.

Weah junior has also signed an additional one-year deal with PSG, but, although ESPN reports that there is no option to buy in the agreement with Celtic, should he impress with the Scottish champions, then the forward will likely remain at Parkhead for the whole of next season as well.

The teenager has struggled for first-team minutes in Paris this season, with former Stoke player Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting the preferred back-up to main striker Edison Cavani, and it is hoped that his development will be helped by the opportunity to play regular first-team football.

If the loan move to Celtic does not pan out, then Weah could be loaned to another Ligue 1 club, with a number of teams said to be interested in his services.
