Cesc Fabregas in line for January move to Milan

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas could be set for a move to AC Milan in the January transfer window.

That is according to The Daily Mirror who report that the 31-year old midfielder could be sold by the West London club then, rather than allowing him to leave on a free next summer. Out of contract next July, he is unlikely to be offered a new deal because of the intense competition for places around him, with Jorginho, N’Golo Kante ahead of him in the pecking order, and Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek both pushing for places.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona star was a regular member of the Chelsea starting line-up under former manager Antonio Conte, but has been marginalised since Maurizio Sarri arrived at the club, with an appearance in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City his only first-team outing to date.

He is free, because of his contract situation, to talk to clubs outside England in January, and AC Milan are thought to be in pole position to sign him.
