Chelsea are set to revive their interest in Ross Barkley when the January transfer window opens.
The Stamford Bridge outfit made a bid to sign the 24-year old Everton midfielder in the summer, only for the player to back out of the deal at the last minute.
Now it appears that the London club may be about to make another move for the England international, who is out of contract at Goodison Park at the end of the season.
Barkley has not played so far this season due to injury, but hopes to be ready for first-team action by the New Year, although it is unclear whether he features in new manager Sam Allardyce’s plans for the rest of the campaign.
Chelsea, however, may face competition from neighbours Spurs for his signature. One of the reasons why Barkley pulled the plug on his summer move was concerns about playing time under Antonio Conte. Barkley still hopes to make a late bid to force his way in England manager Gareth Southgate’s plans for the World Cup, and Tottenham may be able to offer him more minutes on the pitch.
