According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are lining up former Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
Hungarian international Gulacsi spent 5 years at Anfield between 2008 and 2013, acting as an understudy to both Pepe Raina and Brad Jones, although he never made a first-team appearance for Liverpool, and was loaned to a series of clubs, including Hereford United, Tranmere Rovers and Hull City. He moved to Red Bull Salzburg on a free transfer in June 2013, before moving to their sister club RB Leipzig for a £3 million fee two years later.
Since then, he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga, and now Chelsea are considering bringing him back to England as they look for a replacement for current incumbent Courtois.
The Belgian international, who is out of contract in the summer of 2019, has consistently refused to commit to an extension at Stamford Bridge, after continuous links with a move to Real Madrid. That has prompted Chelsea to consider cashing in on him this year, with Gulacsi, who qualifies as a home grown player by dint of his spell at Liverpool, a strong candidate to become their number one keeper for next season.
