Conté set for Inter Milan job

Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conté is set to take over as boss of Inter Milan, replacing Luciano Spalletti.

The 49 year old has not worked since leaving Stamford Bridge acrimoniously last summer, and has been linked with a number of high profile jobs, including both PSG and Bayern Munich. He was also thought to be in the running for the Juventus job, but reports suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo has vetoed that move, and, instead, the Turin side want current Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri to succeed Max Allegri instead.

However, it now looks like Conté is destined for Inter instead, and a reunion with CEO, Beppe Marotta, with whom he worked closely when they were both at Juventus together between 2011 and 2014, winning three Serie A titles in succession.

Conté is set to sign a three or four year contract with Inter, and will be tasked with making the serious challengers again, both in Serie A and in Europe.
