Crystal Palace adopt revolutionary loan strategy

Crystal Palace have adopted an innovative strategy to player loans.

That is according to The Daily Mail who reports that they are willing to let players go out to lower-league clubs, provided that they are then selected for first-team action.

The Premier League side have written to all clubs in League One, League Two and the National League agreeing to waive any loan fees, in return for guarantees about playing time for loanees. Palace see this as a win-win scenario – lower league clubs are relieved of the pressure of paying loan fees, which can be exorbitant on limited budgets; in return, young squad and fringe players are offered competitive playing time.

Palace’s offer could not come at a better time, with as many as 80 players from Premier League clubs expected to leave on loan deals before Friday’s deadlines, as leading clubs look to trim their squads before the window shuts until January.
