Dani Alves wants Premier League move

PSG full-back Dani Alves says that it is impossible he will finish his career without playing in the Premier League.

The 35-year old Brazilian has won more major trophies than any active player in the game that has seem play for three of Europe’s biggest clubs, with a star-studded career with Barcelona, and a brief, but successful spell with Juventus behind him.

Yet, despite having won more than 107 caps for his country, he still has ambitions to make it to England, telling The Daily Telegraph “The idea that I might finish my career without going to the Premier League, it is not possible. For sure, this is the most amazing football in the world. First, because of the respect for the players from the fans, and then because of the passion on the pitch. If I can play, that would be perfect, but I will make it there one way or the other.”

Alves, who joined PSG in July 2017, has been out of action since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in May, but is close to a return, and hopes to help guide his club in to the latter stages of the Champions League.

Crucially, he is out of contract in the summer, and with no new deal yet on the table from PSG, he could be available for free for any Premier League club willing to take a gamble on one of the world’s best full-backs, albeit one in the twilight years of his career.

He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
