De Gea looks set to commit his future to United

Manchester United fans have little to be excited about just now: Saturday’s defeat at West Ham meant they have made their worst start to a season for 29 years, whilst the fall-out from the row between manager Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba continues to rumble.

However, there may be chink of light in the dark, with indications growing that goalkeeper David de Gea is set to finally sign the new contract that is on offer to him.

That comes following news that de Gea’s long-term girlfriend Edurne Garcia, is set to move to Manchester to be with him.

Actress and pop star Garcia, who represented Spain at the 2015 Eurovision Song contest, has not always been a fan of Manchester in the past, famously saying in 2015 that it was “uglier than the back of a fridge.”

However, now it looks like she is prepared to overcome the city’s shortcomings, in order to be with her man.

Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
