Bookmakers have made Derby County the new favourites to sign John Terry after the former England and Chelsea’s move to Russia fell through.
Free agent Terry was on the verge of a lucrative move to Spartak Moscow, but the deal fell through after Terry decided that relocating his family to Russia was not in their best interests.
That led many to believe that he would re-sign for Aston Villa, the club where he spent last season, and who were heavily linked with him again in recent weeks, before the Moscow deal surfaced.
However, according to the bookmakers, it is Derby County who are short-priced odds to sign him, with The Daily Express revealing that he is 2/1 to sign a deal with The Rams.
Derby, of course, are now managed by Terry’s friend, and former Chelsea and England team mate Frank Lampard, so their personal relationship may well dictate the move.
