Portugal have been placed in a relatively easy group at the European Championship in the coming summer. They have the likes of Iceland, Austria and Hungary to contend with in Group F. Ronaldo has been in great form again this season, having scored 30 goals already this season, and he is odds on favourite to end the Euros with the golden boot.
The reigning world champions Germany are the favourites to add the European Championship to add to the World Cup they won in the summer of 2014 and leading their attack from the front will be Bayern Munich stalwart Thomas Muller. He was among the topscorers in Brazil and will attempt to achieve the same feat in France come summer.
The probable absence of Karim Benzema from the Euros means that Olivier Giroud is likely to take the gaolscoring mantle for Les Bleus in France this summer. He has been in top form for Arsenal, having scored 18 goals so far this season as they attempt to win the league for the first time in over a decade.
The Frenchman has been one of the best players for Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid this campaign. The Madrid outfit bought the likes of Luciano Vietto and Jackson Martinez in the summer for competition in the striker department, but the Frenchman has held his own. He has notched up an impressive tally of 19 goals and three assists so far and will likely be the top dog for Les Bleus at their home tournament.
The Poland international finished as the top scorer during the qualifying campaign for the European Championship with a tally of 13 goals. The Bayern Munich maverick is quite regarded amongst the most potent strikers in the world at the moment and he will look to justify his billing in the summer as his side take on the likes of Germany, Ukraine, Poland and Northern Ireland in the group stage. His season tally of 27 goals from 28 games so far suggests that he is in top form.
