After acquiring Brazilians Richarlison and Bernard in the summer, Everton have been linked with another of their compatriots, Eder Militão, who currently plays for Porto.
That is according to Brazilian publication UOL Sports who report that Everton scouts travelled to Portugal last Saturday to watch Militão play in Porto’s 2 – 0 win away to Vitória de Setúba, as well as their opening Champions League fixture At Schalke.
The 20-year old has just signed for Porto, having arrived at the club in August from Brazilian club São Paulo, in a deal said to have been worth €4 million (£3.6 million). However, his stay in Portugal may well be short-lived if Everton are serious in their pursuit, with Porto set to follow their business model of buy cheap, sell big, by making a substantial profit on the deal.
Known primarily as a right-back, Militão can also play in the centre of defence, or further forward as a defensive midfielder.
