Everton ready to offer Jack Wilshere huge signing-on fee as incentive

The Daily Mirror reports that Everton are prepared to offer Jack Wilshere an £8 million signing-on fee if he signs for them in the summer.

The Arsenal midfielder is out of contract at The Emirates at the end of June, and, despite a new contract being on the table, he shows no sign of being prepared to accept a new deal. Although he would prefer to stay with The Gunners, he is unhappy with the terms of the proposed new contract which offers, in effect, a pay cut on his existing deal, with the package heavily incentivised in terms of bonuses for appearances.

However, with Arsenal not prepared to revise the deal because of the player’s injury history, it now looks increasingly likely that Wilshere will be playing his football somewhere else next season.

If Wilshere does move to Everton, the midfielder who has just earned a recall to Gareth Southgate’s England squad, will hook up with his former teammate Theo Walcott, who moved to Goodison Park in January.
