Ex-Spurs man eyes former club for transfer targets

The Daily Mirror reports that ex-Spurs scout Paul Mitchell is looking at his former club for transfer targets having been appointed head of recruitment and development at German side RB Leipzig.

The Bundesliga has become a popular destination for English young players as they are given more chances for first-team football than they normally get in the Premier League.

Jadon Sancho, one of the stars of England’s under-17 squad that won the World Cup moved from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund last summer, and has already made a number of appearances for their senior team, whilst West Ham’s Reece Oxford, on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach has appeared 4 times for them so far this season.

Now Mitchell wants to raid his former club for more young players to bring over on loan, with 17-year old Reo Griffiths one potential target after a prolific spell in Tottenham’s youth ranks, having scored 20 goals so far this season for their under-18 side.
