Fernando Llorente set for summer exit from Tottenham

Spurs are ready to make Spanish forward Fernando Llorente available for transfer in the summer, reports The Evening Standard.

The 33-year old was bought from Swansea City in August for a reported £12 million fee, recruited to act as a back-up to Harry Kane. However, he has struggled to make an impression in North London, and prior to his recent FA Cup hat-trick against League 2 Rochdale, had only managed two goals in 26 games for Tottenham, and was not even making the bench in many matches.

Any hopes that the ankle ligament damage which Harry Kane suffered in the away win at Bournemouth last weekend would give the Spaniard a chance to establish him in the Spurs team now appear to be dashed with the news that Erik Lamela is likely to take the England man’s place.

In Kane’s absence, Spurs will look to South Korean striker, Heung-min Son, who has scored seven goals in his last four games, to assume main goal scoring responsibilities.
