Former Spurs Star set for Arsenal move

Former Tottenham Hotspur Steven Caulker is on the verge of a shock transfer to Arsenal.

However, before fans of both clubs rise up in protest, it should be noted that this is the Kiev version of Arsenal, not North London’s finest.

The former England international has had a troubled recent few years. After leaving Spurs in 2013, he played one season for Cardiff before joining Queen’s Park Rangers. He was then sent on loan to Liverpool, but his time at Anfield will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. He only played three games for the club, not of them in his preferred position of centre-back, whilst off-field he suffered from depression and had several drunk and disorderly charges to his name.

Returning to Rangers he spent the second half of last season on loan at Dundee, but is now a free agent after triggering a clause in his contract.

Now it looks like he could be set for a move to Arsenal Kyiv, managed by former Middlesbrough star and Italian international Fabio Ravanelli who, according to The Daily Mail is hoping Caulker’s experience can help steer them off the foot of the Ukrainian Premier League.

Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
