New Derby County boss Frank Lampard is ready to bring old friend and skipper John Terry to the club, if he loses his current captain Curtis Davies, who is a target for former Rams boss Gary Rowett, who is now at Stoke City.
Rowett has been given a transfer war chest to try and guide Stoke City back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, and is a big admirer of his former player who played in every game last season as County got to the play-offs, only to lose over two legs to Fulham.
If Davies does move on, that could pave the way for Lampard, according to The Daily Mirror, to be reunited with his long-standing team mate Terry. The 37-year old defender is now a free agent, having left Aston Villa by mutual consent in a bid to help the club, which is struggling financially, reduce their wage bill.
