Fulham lodge £26 million bid for striker

Fulham have submitted a £26 million bid for Real Sociedad’s Brazilan striker Willian Jose.

That is according to The Daily Mail who report that the West London side have made the bid having failed to secure an agreement to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic, who spent the second-half of last season on loan from Newcastle at Craven Cottage and helped spearhead the club’s successful promotion push, on a permanent deal from his parent club.

26-year old Jose began his career in the Brazilian second division, before a series of loan moves took in clubs such as Gremio, Santos and Real Madrid, although he only made one senior appearance for Los Balncos.

He was eventually signed by Sociedad in July 2016, and has since gone on to score 34 times in 74 appearances for the Basque side. He was called –up to the senior Brazil squad for their friendlies against Russia and Germany earlier this year but did not make it onto the pitch on either occasion.
