Juventus are intent on signing Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and are hoping they can get the 21-year old Frenchman to sign a pre-contact agreement in January.
That is according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato who reports that the Italian champions are hoping to follow the same route as they did with Emre Can and pick-up Martial for free when his contract expires next summer.
The problem for Juve is that United, apparently contrary to the wishes of their manager, Jose Mourinho, have offered Martial a lucrative new deal worth £8 million a year to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
Martial has become something of a bit part player under Mourinho, and was heavily criticised by the Portuguese in the summer when he chose to stay in England after the birth of his child, rather than fly out to join the club’s pre-season tour of America. Nevertheless, he is valued by the club hierarchy who view him as a major prospect for the future.
