Kenedy set for second Newcastle loan spell

Chelsea’s Brazilian winger Kenedy is set for a second loan spell with Newcastle United, the club with whom he spent four months at the end of last season.

That is according to The Daily Mail who report that Chelsea are keen that the 22-year old should gain more first-team football, and with options likely to be limited at Stamford Bridge, whoever is in charge next season, they are happy to sanction another move back to Newcastle.

Kenedy played 13 times for Newcastle during his first loan spell, scoring twice, with both goals coming in a 3 – 0 home win against Southampton. In his short spell on Tyneside, he managed to establish himself as a fan favourite, so the news of his re-signing is likely to go down well with the club’s supporters.

Although Kenedy has been at Chelsea since 2015, and is under contract until 2020, he has only started five Premier League games for the West London side.
