Leeds sign Wolves left-back

Leeds United have completed their first signing of the summer with left-back Barry Douglas joining from Wolves for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year old Scot becomes new manager’s Marcelo Bielsa’s first permanent signing, after loan moves were agreed for Chelsea players Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman.

According to The BBC Douglas has agreed a three year deal at Elland Road.

Douglas began his career in the Scottish Second Division with Queen’s Park, before securing a move to Dundee United for whom he played three years. There then followed a spell in Polish football with Lech Poznan, and then a year in Turkey playing for Konyaspor before he moved to Wolves last summer.

He helped Wolves win the Championship last season, scoring 5 goals and providing 14 assists but, despite that, the Scottish International has been deemed surplus to requirements at Molineux, and will continue his career with Leeds where he will wear the number 3 shirt.
