Leipzig make club record bid for Ademola Lookman

Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have made a club record bid for Everton winger Ademola Lookman.

That is according to The Independent who report that the German team, who had seen earlier bids of £12 million and £14 million for the 20-year old turned down, decided to raise their offer by £8 million over the weekend.

Lookman is already well-known to the management of Leipzig, having spent the last part of the 2017 – 2018 season on loan there, during which time he netted 5 times in 11 appearances. The England under-21 international has made clear his desire to return to Germany on a permanent basis, and, given that his imminent first team chances at Goodison Park are very limited, he may get his wish following this latest bid.

The forward began his career with Charlton before securing a move to Everton in January 2017. Born in England to Nigerian parents, he is eligible to pay for both countries, but, so far, has opted to play his youth football with England.
