Leipzig will allow midfielder to join Liverpool this month

According to talkSPORT German side RB Leipzig are prepared to allow German midfielder Naby Keita to join Liverpool six months ahead of schedule – for a fee.

The 22-year old has already agreed a deal to sign for Liverpool at the end of the season for £48 million, but the Anfield club want to accelerate the move, and already made enquiries late last year with Leipzig, only to be rebuffed, with Sporting Director Ralf Rangnick insisting that it made no sense with the club focusing on Champions League qualification.

However, Leipzig have now altered their stance, in part because Keita’s form has dropped in recent months, and there is a widespread belief in Germany that the player is more focused on his prospective, rather than his current, employer.

Reports suggest that Leipzig will let Keita leave early if Liverpool pay them an extra £13 million, and with the proceeds from the sale of Philippe Coutinho swelling their coffers, the Merseyside club are ready to take them up on the offer.
