Liverpool midfielder completes loan move to Cardiff

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has joined Cardiff City on loan for the rest of the season, as confirmed by the Daily Mail.

The 21-year old Serbian joined Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade for £5.1 million in January 2016, but has found his first-team opportunities at Anfield limited, and has made only six appearances for the club this season in all competitions, with his only start coming in the Carabao Cup defeat away to Leicester in September.

Grujic was also linked with a loan move to Middlesbrough, but has instead opted to head to Wales and the chance to join Cardiff City’s promotion push in the second half of the season, under their manager Neil Warnock. Cardiff currently sit third in the Championship, just two points outside the automatic promotion places, although they are 12 points adrift of runaway leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Cardiff have confirmed that the player will wear the number 24 shirt during his loan spell, which is subject to international clearance.
