Liverpool target set for new contract with huge release clause

The Daily Mail reports that Roma are set to offer their goalkeeper Allison a bumper new contract which will include an £80 million release clause in order to ward off interest from Liverpool.

The 25-year old Brazilian, who is first choice for his country, ahead of Manchester City’s Ederson, has long been linked with a move to Liverpool, with manager Jurgen Klopp looking for an upgrade on the inconsistent Simon Mignolet, and current incumbent, Lois Karious

However, in order to deter any bids for one of their star players, Roma are prepared to offer Allison a new contract which will not only include this high release clause, but will also see his annual salary treble, from £1.5 million a year to £4.45 million.

Allison joined Roma in July 2016 from Internacional in his native Brazil. He spent his first season at the club as understudy to Wojciech Szczesny, assuming the number one jersey when the Pole signed for Juventus. He has played 45 games for I Giallorossi in all competitions.
