Lloris place not under threat at Spurs

Spurs have no intention of bringing in a new high profile goalkeeper in the summer.

That is despite current incumbent Hugo Lloris making a number of high profile mistakes this season, which have cost his side dearly on several occasions. His latest slip-up came at the weekend, as he helped gift Liverpool a win, failing to deal with Mo Salah’s back post header, and, instead pushing it against his own defender Toby Alderweireld, who could not react in time to prevent an own goal.

That led some critics and former players to call for the Tottenham and France captain to be replaced, arguing that the 32-year old had started to become a liability. However, as the Daily Mail has revealed Lloris will remain in situ at White Hart Lane, with Mauricio Pochettino ready to strengthen the team elsewhere, most noticeably in central midfield, and upfront, where a quality back-up to Harry Kane is needed.
