Both Manchester City and Chelsea are tracking Sunderland midfielder Bali Mumba.
Despite the fact that he has just turned 17, Mumba is already attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, and both teams had scouts at Halifax on Wednesday night to watch him play a big part in Sunderland’s 1 – 0 win in the FA Youth Cup.
Manchester City have been leading the chase for Mumba and are prepared to pay around £2.5 million for him but now, according to The Sun, Chelsea are ready to enter the fight to sign him.
Mumba has already made 4 appearances for the Sunderland first team, but now it looks like the England under-18 international could be destined for higher things, with his club ready to cash in on the youngster to help secure funds to boost their promotion bid, as they try to regain their Championship status at the first time of asking.
