The Sun reports that newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala.
The French international defender who arrived at City from Porto in 2014 finds himself very much an outcast at City, and does not feature in manager Pep Guardiola’s plans for the future. Out of contract next summer, the 27-year old has been in discussions with a number of foreign clubs, as well as several Premier League teams, about his next move.
Now Wolves are keen to sign him as they look to bolster their defence and chances of survival in the Premier League which they will return to next season after an absence of seven years.
Mangala turned down the chance of a move to Crystal Palace last season, whilst a loan move to Everton earlier this campaign was cut short after playing less than a half of his first match, ironically enough against Palace, when he suffered serious knee ligament damage.
