Manchester City linked again with Lyon midfielder

Manchester City are being linked again with a move for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who plays for Lyon.

That is according to French publication Le10 Sport who claim that City bid €50 million (£44.5 million) for the French under-21 international in the last transfer window, but the offer was turned down by the Ligue 1 club.

However, City have continued to monitor his progress, with Ndombele impressing during Lyon’s victory at City in the Champions League last week.

Now they may be prepared to return for a second bid for Ndombele in the January window, as Pep Guardiola looks to strengthen further his midfield options, having missed out on signing Jorginho in the summer, the Italian international choosing to join Chelsea instead.

Ndombele initially joined Lyon in August 2017 on a season-long loan from Amiens. However, under the terms of the loan arrangement, Lyon had the option to turn it in to a permanent move which this chose to do so in July.
