Manchester United and Spurs keen on Bournemouth defender

That is according to The Daily Star who reports that both clubs have been monitoring the 23-year old in recent weeks, who has delivered a series of man of the match displays which have helped his side surge to sixth in the Premier League table before the international break.

Aké is known to Mourinho when they were both at Chelsea together, and now sees the Dutch centre-back as a possible answer to the club’s much publicised defensive problems. For their part, Tottenham are looking for defensive reinforcements following Toby Alderweireld’s continued refusal to sign a new contract.

Bournemouth will not want to sell Aké who they finally signed for a club record fee in 2017, after the player had previously been on loan to them by Chelsea. They will be looking for a fee well in excess of the £20 million that they bought him for, and his former club might yet have a say in proceedings as well, as it is thought that, as a conditional of his sale, Chelsea included a buy-back option.
