Michy Batshuayi could make Roma switch

Chelsea outcast Michy Batshuayi could be set for a January move to Roma.

That is according to Corriere dello Sport who report that the Belgian international, currently on loan with La Liga side Valencia, is wanted by Roma to boost their attacking options.

The 25-year old is currently on a season-long loan at Valencia, but has struggled to repay the Spanish club’s faith in him, scoring just once in 12 league appearances. Despite this, Roma, who have been struggling this season in front of goal, are hoping that he could add some firepower to rescue their stuttering league campaign.

That would appear to end his chance of returning to Chelsea, where he has failed to hold down a first team place since signing in a 5-year deal for £33 million from French club Marseille in July 2016. He played just 53 times for the Blues in all competitions, scoring 19 goals.

He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
