Mourinho concerned about lack of United transfer activity

Jose Mourinho appears to be headed for another clash with his board over transfer activity.

The Manchester United manager was famously unhappy with the club’s failure to sign a commanding centre-half during the summer, and, with the January window fast approaching, the lack of action on the transfer front is giving him cause for concern.

The centre of defence again is his main priority, but, despite being linked with the likes of Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld and Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli, very little concrete steps appear to have been taken to secure any potential transfer targets. That is despite the fact that defensive errors continue to blight United’s season, the latest coming from Phil Jones who scored a needless own goal in the Champions League loss to Valencia in the week.

Now, according to The Telegraph Mourinho fears that he is yet again going to be left disappointed by the club’s transfer comings and goings this January, which is likely to make his relationship with the Board, especially vice-chairman Ed Woodward, even more fractious than it is already.
