Pochettino ready to welcome Bale back to Spurs

tottenham news

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has indicated that he is open to the idea of former player Gareth Bale returning to the club next season, after admitting that the forward still regularly talks to Spurs staff.

The Real Madrid star left Spurs for Spain in an £85 million deal in September 2013, but now he could be on for a sensational return to North London.

Despite winning 3 Champions League titles, La Liga and a Spanish Cup with Real, Bale has suffered a litany of injuries in recent seasons, which has cast doubts over his long-term future at the club. Although manager Zinedine Zidane is said to be a big fan of the player, there are indications that his time in Spain may be coming to an end of the current campaign.

Should Bale become available, then Tottenham can expect stiff competition from Manchester United for his signature. United manager Jose Mourinho has long been a fan of the Welsh international and has tried to sign him on several occasions in the past.
