Whilst the transfer window has shut for English clubs, their counterparts in Europe still have more than two weeks to complete their business for the summer.
That puts Premier League sides at a disadvantage compared to their continental rivals, and one side that may be ready to take advantage is PSG, with The Daily Express reporting that they are preparing a £100 million bid for Tottenham’s Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen before the European window closes on 31st August.
PSG have long been admirers of Eriksen, and have drawn encouragement from the fact that the Dane has not yet followed the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Ali and Song Heung-Min and signed the new contract that is on the table for him.
Spurs, the only Premier League club not to sign any players in the summer, are desperate to hang-on to Eriksen, but, with the new stadium to help fund, a sufficiently large offer from the French champions may be too good for them to turn down.
