PSG target de Gea with transfer plan

PSG want to recruit David de Gea from Manchester United – but without paying an exorbitant transfer fee for him.

De Gea has been locked in a contract dispute with Manchester United for months, and with the club unwilling to meet his £400,000 a week wage demands, he now looks likely to leave Old Trafford.

However, PSG who would like to sign him, are hamstrung by the demands of FFP (Financial Fair Play), and paying the £60 million required to prise him away from United this summer, could see them breach the restrictions in place.

Instead, the French club have hatched a plan that will see De Gea remain with the Premier League side for the remaining year of his current deal, and then signing a pre-contract agreement with them in January.

De Gea would then be rewarded with a massive signing-on fee, which would more than compensate him for the money he has failed to earn with United.

Under this scenario, the only long-term losers would be Manchester United themselves.
