Rangers have completed their eighth signing of the summer with the signing of midfielder Lassana Coulibaly who joins the Scottish club from Ligue 1 side Angers, on a season-long loan.
The deal, which was confirmed on the club’s official website, is subject to international clearance.
The 22-year old began his career with Corsican side Bastia, before making the switch to Angers a year ago. He made 23 appearances for the French side last season in all competitions, scoring one goal. He is also a full international for Mali, and has 9 caps so far to his name.
He told Rangers TV “I’m very happy to be here. When my agent said that Gerrard is the head coach, I said, OK, no problem, and then I was happy to come and join this team.
“I play midfield, I’m strong and physical and I can get the ball from the opponent for my team.”
Despite the signing of Coulibaly, new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has not finished with his summer transfer plans, and is hopeful of adding Nigeria striker Sadiq Umar to his squad as well, with the player set for talks having arrived in Scotland.
