Ranieri pays the price at Fulham

After just 106 days in charge Claudio Ranieri has been sacked as the manager of Fulham.

The 67-year old Italian, who famously led Leicester City to the Premier League title in 2016, was only appointed in November, after previous incumbent, Slaviša Jokanović, was dismissed following a poor start to the season.

However, despite claiming  a 3 -2 win in his first match against Southampton, Ranieri was unable to achieve a noticeable turnaround in their fortunes, and only won two more games in his time at Craven Cottage.  Ironically it was the reverse fixture against the Saints that proved to be the final straw, the 2-0 defeat at St. Mary’s on Wednesday night leaving the club 10 points from safety, with only 10 games left.

Scott Parker has been placed in temporary charge of the team, and will likely lead them into the West London derby against Chelsea at the weekend, for a team that are now looking for their third manager in four months.
