The Sun reports that Real Madrid want Paul Pogba as the player’s relationship with his manager Jose Mourinho continues to deteriorate.
The pair have endured a difficult relationship this season, as epitomised by the Manchester derby, where Pogba was heavily criticised at half-time, only to respond with a man of the match performance in the second-half. However, it was back to normal on the weekend, with Pogba pulled off after an hour having been booked in the disappointing defeat to West Brom, and with Mourinho afterwards insisting that those players who had under-performed would be dropped for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Spurs, although the manager later changed his tune after the club’s midweek win away at Bournemouth.
The £89 million French midfielder has largely failed to justify his transfer fee during his second spell at Old Trafford with suspicions that the way Mourinho sets up his teams fails to play to his strengths. Now it looks like a move to Real could be on the cards, which would be of benefit to both Pogba and United.
