England midfielder Ruben-Loftus Cheek wants to leave Chelsea in January.
The 22-year old, who came to prominence after a stand-out loan spell with Crystal Palace, made a calculated gamble in the summer, that he could force his way into the Chelsea team under new manager Maurizio Sarri. However, that has back-fired and he has just one solitary start to his name so far this season, a Europa League tie against Hungarian team Mol Vidi.
His lack of first-team opportunities has seen him lose his place in the England team as well.
Desperate to play regular football and to force his way back into Gareth Southgate’s plans, Loftus Cheek now plans to ask for a January move. That will interest Palace, whose manager, Roy Hodgson, has never denied his wish to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis. However, according to The Daily Mail they could face competition from Everton, whilst Arsenal could also be option, although that is heavily linked with what happens with Aaron Ramsey once the transfer window opens.
