Schürrle to leave Fulham in the event of relegation

World Cup winner André Schürrle has revealed that he will not stay with Fulham if they are relegated at the end of the season.

The 28-year old forward joined the Cottagers on a two year loan from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund at the start of this season, and has gone on to score six goals so far this campaign, from 19 Premier League appearances, making him the club’s top scorer behind Aleksandar Mitrović.

However, he has revealed in an interview with German magazine Kicker that the terms of his loan agreement means that, in the event of Fulham losing their top flight status, he would return to Germany at the end of the season, even if he is not wanted in the Dortmund set-up.

Fulham are currently 19th in the Premier League, some 7 points from safety and with a considerably worse goal difference than the three clubs currently hovering above the relegation zone, Burnley, Southampton, and Newcastle.
