Spurs reject Danny Rose bid

Tottenham turned down a late bid from Watford to sign left-back Danny Rose for £14 million.

Rose, who was left out of Spurs’ pre-season tour of Asia so he could explore other options, is free to leave the club, and is now very much surplus to requirements following the arrival on deadline day of Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham for £25 million. Given also the fact that Ben Davies has recently signed a new five year deal at White Hart Lane, and it is clear that 29-year old Rose’s future lies away from North London.

However, Spurs rejected the Watford bid because they considered that the £14 million they offered was some way short of a true valuation for a player who still has two years left on his current contract. With the European transfer windows still open for three weeks, it remains to be seen if Rose will be playing his football abroad next season.
