Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a late bid for Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, who is a Slovenian international.
Spurs are the only Premier League club not to have signed anybody in the summer transfer window yet, and their fans are growing increasingly unhappy at the situation, especially after they were thrashed in a pre-season friendly by Spanish side Girona on Saturday 4 – 1, with many of their big names just getting back into training after their World Cup exertions.
They have been linked consistently with a move for Jack Grealish but chairman Daniel Levy’s notorious hardball tactics when it comes to price appear to have backfired this time, because Aston Villa have got new investment and have no longer need to sell prized assets like Grealish on the cheap.
Lobotka who is 23 has a £31 million release clause in his contract, and, having only signed a new deal in February which runs until 2023, as reported by The Daily Mirror, Celta are under no pressure to let him go cheaply.
