Tottenham want to sign Barcelona flop

Tottenham are considering a January bid for Brazilian winger Malcom.

The 21-year old only joined Barcelona from French side Bordeaux in July, having signed on a five-year deal. However, he has quickly becoming frustrated with his lack of opportunities at the Camp Nou, with his playing time this season limited so far to a total of 25 minutes.

And, with players of the calibre of Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele ahead of him in the Catalan’s pecking order, and former Liverpool star, Phillipe Coutinho also capable of dropping into wide positions, his immediate prospects of regular first team football appear faint.

That has alerted Spurs, according to Sport, who have had a long standing interest in the former Brazil under-20 star, along with their North London rivals Arsenal.

After being courted by many clubs in Europe, Malcom finally agreed to sign Roma; however, with the fee and formalities seemingly agreed, and fans ready to greet him at the airport, their deal was gazumped by Barcelona at the last minute, and he signed for the Catalans instead.
