United defender eyes January departure

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is considering leaving the club in January.

That is according to The Daily Mirror who report that the 24-year old is unhappy at his situation, having been relegated to the bench for United’s last two matches.

Bailly appears to have borne the brunt of manager Jose Mourinho’s anger after his side’s 3 – 2 defeat away to Brighton in August, and whilst others who performed that day have been subsequently forgiven, Bailly remains sidelined by  a man who made him his first signing when he took over at Old Trafford.

The Ivory Coast defender was part of the United team that won the League Cup last year, but has struggled with injuries during his time at Old Trafford, and has failed to justify, so far, the £30 million price tag which United paid when signing him from Villareal two years ago.

Despite that, he would have no shortage of suitors were he to leave with both Spurs and Arsenal said to be monitoring his situation carefully.
