Manchester United are ready to listen to offers for Daley Blind, despite triggering a one-year extension to his contract, The Daily Mirror reports.
The 27-year old Dutch defender, who has missed the last two months with an ankle injury, has made just 15 appearances for United this season, and while the club were ready to sell him during the January window, the only serious offer came from Roma, who wanted to take the player on loan.
With the Italian club likely to return with an offer in the summer, United have activated a clause in Blind’s contract to extend his stay at Old Trafford until June 2019. This means that they can command a transfer fee for the player, and recoup some of the £14 million they paid Ajax for the defender in August 2014.
Blind, who is the son of former Dutch international Danny, has 52 full caps for the Netherlands, and has made 139 senior appearances for United in all competitions, scoring 6 goals in the process.
